The Tri-Cities Shooting Association, Inc. (TCSA), a volunteer organization affiliated with the National Rifle Association, is developing public shooting ranges and providing trained Range Officers at the Rattlesnake Mountain Shooting Facility (RMSF) near the Tri-Cities. The RMSF offers to the public one of the most extensive recreational shooting facilities in the Pacific Northwest. It is open to the public and draws competition shooters from the Tri-Cities, Washington, surrounding states, and even Canada.

The 1100 acre fenced location consists of land belonging to the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife and the U. S. Bureau of Land Management. This property is administered by the Benton County Park Board under a Memorandum of Understanding with the two property-owning agencies. The TCSA is developing and managing Rattlesnake Mountain Shooting Facility under a Lease/Concession agreement with Benton County. As of fall 1998, the facility has 10 pistol bays, multi-purpose rifle and pistol ranges with 20 covered firing points, a 1000 yard hi-power rifle range, a primitive range, a plinking range, a sporting clays course and trap fields.

Donations to TCSA may be tax deductible because we are a tax-exempt 501(c) (3) corporation.

Rattlesnake Mountain Shooting Facility includes the Rose-Iris multipurpose public range, that is open for rifle and handgun shooting Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 to 3, weather permitting. The range is normally closed on holidays and weekdays (Mon-Thur) in deference to the volunteer Range Officers and their families. Extremes of heat, cold, wind, and other weather conditions can cause closure.

Organizations may reserve the use of the special purpose ranges for events by application to TCSA. Employee groups and the military may use the facility for fun and training. If needed, our Range Officer staff is ready to assist in supporting users and functions.

A number of regularly scheduled events take place at the Rattlesnake Mountain Shooting Facility.

  • Practical pistol competitions are held the 3rd Sunday of every month.
  • High power rifle matches are held the 2nd Saturday of the month, April through September.
  • Cowboy Action Shooting matches are held the last Saturday of every month.
  • Shotgun Trap is open every Wednesday night and Saturday and Sunday 9am to 2pm
  • Sagebrush Free Trappers meet about noon on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

Non-members using the multi-purpose range or participating in an event must pay a $5.00 daily membership fee.
